The old heroes as Abraham, Sarah, King David and many others became alive again. They were acting in a human and sensible way and not as vague religious figures. She parses out the grammar and double entendres found in the original Hebrew for us as we go through the Genesis stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and his sons, as well as Ruth and Naomi, and David and Absalom. "I read Dr. Ravid’s book in the holy language (Hebrew) in which it is originally written and I am really happy that it was translated into English, allowing the world to enjoy it as much as I did. I must admit, although Bible was not one of my favorite subjects at school, I couldn’t leave Dr. Ravid’s book off my hands and read it like a suspense novel..."
